does this really count as stainless steel if there's a ceramic coating inside? will it last as long as other stainless steels? TIA

Check the reviews. The "protective" plastic on the handles is fused to at least one, of not more, of the handles.
I bought a set yesterday and took them back today because the plastic on the handles of the two smaller pans cannot be removed.
Sad to see enshittification of a brand like Tramontina, and a retailer like Costco.

This is really helpful. I used to like the red handled silicone non-stick pans they have; some are still around but at a higher price point. Trying to reduce the use of non-stick in general, though. Switching to nitrided carbon steel where possible, but not always practical.

I read on here that ceramic loses its oils through time/use which make 'em non-stick. So far, I believe my ceramics last me around 3yrs until they're no longer non-stick.

On the other hand, I've started with 1 SS non-stick pan and I think I'm getting the hang of it. I'll likely start looking for deals and go fully SS in the next year or two.

Not a great experience. Worked at first for a few months then food started sticking. Returned to Costco

Just get regular nonstick if you're going to use them for delicate foods.

Stainless steal will last forever if taken care of. This will be junk in a year if you use daily and you're lucky

Weird, I just bought this set too and the plastic easily came off.
