This Tramontina tri ply clad stainless steel ceramic nonstick fry pan set is aimed at everyday cooking with a nonstick surface and stainless steel construction. The set is also showing up cheaper in store at $45, and shipping is free online. The main strengths are the tri ply build and the convenience of ceramic nonstick for lighter foods. The biggest caveats are that the handle plastic can be stubborn or appear fused on some sets, and the ceramic coating may lose its nonstick performance after months or a few years of use.

Common Questions (4)

  • The ceramic nonstick can lose effectiveness after a few months to around 3 years of use, with food starting to stick as the coating wears. That makes it less suitable for daily heavy use than regular nonstick or stainless cookware.

  • The handle packaging plastic can be difficult to remove and may feel fused to the stainless steel, especially on the smaller pans. Some sets come off easily, but others take several minutes to peel off and may need extra effort.

  • It is a tri-ply clad stainless steel set with a ceramic nonstick interior, so the cooking surface is not plain stainless steel. The stainless construction is the body and handle material, while the ceramic coating provides the nonstick surface.

  • The listed online price is $54.99 with free shipping, and the shipping charge can look higher until the free-shipping credit is applied at checkout. The same set was also reported at $45 in-store.

Check the reviews. The "protective" plastic on the handles is fused to at least one, of not more, of the handles. I bought a set yesterday and took them back today because the plastic on the handles of the two smaller pans cannot be removed. Sad to see enshittification of a brand like Tramontina, and a retailer like Costco.
The handles are full heat resistant stainless steel, Please check whether you purchased the same product.

The plastic wrapped around the handles are difficult to remove. Took me almost 10 minutes removing them from 2 handles. Whatever type they are using it's aged and almost fused with the stainless steel but it does come off.
