just fyi, while the price is good this is the lowest torque model, the 600 series. If your use case is really light, it's ok.
but if you have more than a small flat yard or thick grass, you may want to look at the 800 series or higher with the dual blade, more torque, etc.

Worth it for the battery, the mower is for smaller lawns. Good deal.

Yeah, if you're looking to go off gas, I'd recommend at a minimum a "select cut" model. I picked up the 1000 series with the 10Ah battery and it can't quite do my 1/3 acre lot. Grass was super thick though. I bet if I raised the deck and gave it a less hot supper it would do fine though, got like 95% of the way through it.
As a point of comparison, my previous mower, a Makita XML08 would require almost 6 5.0Ah batteries to do the whole yard.
I will also say the blade/motor speed drops a good bit when the battery starts running low. I may pick up another smaller battery to have a backup, but so far I'm pretty happy with the Ego. Definitely lighter than the steel-decked makita.

I've read you want to stick to 80V electric mowers. But I have no personal experience with them other than a neighbor who got one a few years ago that needed me to drive over and buzz through his over-grown lawn so he could get through it with his electric mower. He ended up returning it and got a used gas push mower a week later. I've heard the 80V models don't have the same sort of problems.

But, I am anxious to learn more.

This vs the greenworks from Costco for$480 and two batteries? Seems like it's going on clearance soon based on my store

get the greenworks for the same price if you can find it. its got the dual blade system and 60v 8ah battery. even though it doesn't mention on the wm site, it does have brushless motor per the gw site. not sure why wm doesn't advertise it. i got lucky and bought it in store for $250 on clearance. at the same or similar voltage, 8ah will bog down less with thicker grass than lower ah batteries.

Happen to have just bought this and used it once. It's super nice for the money. If you don't have a huge yard the battery is more than enough. Runs really well, but the top speed on the thing is like a jog, so turn it down a bit.

This is a good deal for a mower they probably plan to discontinue. The Slickdeals alert lists the 6.5 mAh battery AND CHARGER The Lowes deal does not include the charger.
