This is a compact 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner with a remote, best suited for a bedroom, garage, porch, or other single room where floor space is tight. It can cool a room enough to be livable, and the smaller footprint is a real plus compared with bulkier dual hose units. The main tradeoffs are the single hose design, which is less efficient and can pull in warm air, plus frequent condensate draining and noticeable noise. Fit and reliability concerns also came up, including awkward window installation and reports of units failing after months.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is a single-hose portable AC, which means it exhausts indoor air through the hose and can pull replacement air in through cracks and openings. That design is less efficient than dual-hose units, but it can still cool a room well for temporary or supplemental use.

  • It can cool a bedroom or enclosed room effectively, with reports of bedrooms staying around 60-65°F in 85-90°F weather and an enclosed porch becoming livable. In a garage or other leaky, uninsulated space, it may still work but can run nearly constantly and may not reach the same temperature.

  • Yes. Single-hose portable units can build up condensate and may shut off when the tank is full, so draining is part of normal upkeep. Some users also note dehumidify mode requires drainage, and one workaround is drilling a small drain hole in the case if you know where to avoid internal components.

  • Portable single-hose units are commonly described as loud, and the compressor being inside the room makes them noisier than window or mini-split options. Some users still use them in bedrooms, but others switched to window units because of the noise.

  • The promo code has been reported as working at checkout, with some buyers getting about $120 off. A later comment also notes the base price rose to $239.99 and the code was not accepted for at least one attempt, so checkout may vary by timing.

I don't know anything about portable A/C's. Even though this is a single hose, will it work in a garage for just a couple of hours every other day. Would it help if I opened the garage door a little and put the hose outside?

*Why did I get a thumbs down vote for asking a question?

Not really a deal. 10,000 btu I guess but seems pricy for just another random name generator company selling AC's. These prices are just normal pricing imo.

Just an example, last year I got a black and decker brand through Costco online for $99.97. 5100 btu however.

That was a deal.

This appears to be just a single-hose unit, so it's creating suction inside your house, drawing warm air in. Happy to be corrected.
These should be banned. Adding another hose is really just some more plastic. Why still make single hose units?

I have both a single hose and dual hose units, 1 in each kid's room, which are adjacent. Sometimes the circuit breaker pops due to the high wattage when they're running simultaneously. But I'm also worried about tearing a hole in the time/space continuum. Should I be?

So.. does the single hose unit cool effectively?

Probably. SD is pretty astroturfed, I wouldn't be surprised if big ac manufacturers pay social media marketing companies to post here. I've actually used a single hose portable AC, they do suck (they are loud and they are less powerful for the game BTU rating) but they'll work in a pinch.
Dual is better but honestly if you are trying to set this up as permanent solution a portable AC isn't a good option at all. These portable units are just that, portable. This shouldn't be your main cooling device. They are inefficient, dual or single, and look like crap, especially the dual.
There, I pissed on everyone's parade. Portable units are great for portable scenarios.

You would get an F- in engineering. Dual hose units are more than just adding another hose. The whole system has to be designed with intake and exhaust. It's not just a piece of plastic. It's how it is designed.

Keep them under 88MPH and you should be fine.

Yup. I have central AC but my east and southeast upstairs rooms are warm in summer. Since I'm in townhouse that disallows window units, you can't go wrong for $180 as a supplement to central AC. Besides, I have 30 days to turn it. I paid $299 for a 12k BTU Midea U window unit but returned it for various reasons.

UPDATE: I just canceled my order because I read many 1-star reviews of a similar model called EUHOMY (also all capital letters like another one called SIMZLIFE) that Amazon has linked on their HAUSHOF page. If others here on Slickdeals say the HAUSHOF works good, and the deal is still alive, then I may re-order.

I have it. It's for my enclosed porch that is an absolute sauna in the summer.

It cools the room enough to be liveable. It exhausts through the window (which is open but covered besides where the exhaust hose runs through).

It works great for us. But it's for one room.
