They create negative pressure in the room which means warm air from the outside will get pulled in via cracks in your house to overcome it. They are less efficient then dual hose units. That being said obviously a single hose unit can easily overcome that warm air and still cool the room fine. So it comes down to cost. If you will be running it all the time and can get a dual hose for $50 or even maybe $100 more, it could be a better choice. But if it's like $200 more then single hose is the most cost effective.

This appears to be just a single-hose unit, so it's creating suction inside your house, drawing warm air in. Happy to be corrected.

this seems kinda expensive for hasslehoffs brand…but I honestly picked up a very similar looking one off side of the road and it's working pretty well though , just need to keep draining the humidity tank as it likes to shut off when full

I feel like that's what I had before with a similar floor unit and it wasn't a problem as it blows outward and inward. 🤷🏼 ♂️ My house isn't a pc case so I probably don't want what you describe but it doesn't make sense

The only issue I had was for a 500 dollar item (5 years ago or so no less) it died 2 months in. Thermostat just conked out so it never blew cool again. And Costco almost stuck me with it I barely returned it in time
Also you can't run dehume mode without drainage
I guess I didn't learn my lesson and got a sister brand U shaped window one that's recalled for legionaries risk but I like it so kept it 🤣

In for 2, Blackrock buying utility companies and raising residential electric bills by 2-300% to provide it cheap to data centers. Might as well turn off central AC.

All you have to do is drill a small hole in the bottom of the case to allow the water to drain and you will be fine. That's what I did with my recalled units. Just make sure you check online to see where to drill so you don't puncture anything inside.

Maybe if they free Luigi he can save us from data centers. othrwise I say We should all boycott the internet for a week a year…they would be so scared to lose their control tracking devices oh the parties we could have then, with no internet , and think the world would get darker with no screens on boom global warming is solved too

The hose is the heat exhaust. The unit is recirculating the air that is already inside your house, not pulling it in from the outside.

If it's just one hose and air is coming out of it where do you think the air comes from that comes out of it?

I'll tell you. It comes from the room where the air conditioner is. And where do you think that air comes from? It comes from the outside as the air conditioner sucks air into the room so it can blow air over the condenser and the Freon loses heat and then gets exhausted to the outside

Seriously. Pay ~$100 more and get a dual hose combined one. Considerably better. And a single hose is usually a false economy.
The other part to remember (and it doesn't seem to be on the product page) is the CEER energy rating of this compared to something like the Hisense inverter dual hose.
This unit could easily cost $50 a month MORE to run than a dual hose inverter if you're running it 8 hours a day.
