Well, cannot agree with the "no box springs needed" point, at least for comfort. Wooden slats have never provided the same comfort & support as a good box spring. But if that's not an issue, this looks like it would make it easier to access the stuff underneath the bed.

That bed limit is a problem as quality new mattresses can weigh more than that.

How does this compare in storage capacity to the ikea malm storage bed? Ive been looking for a deal on the ikea one and actually logged on here today to look back on what kind of deals ikea usually offers. I need the most storage possible with a bed so if this is comparable in storage I may go with this.

Edit: Well that sucks in the 20 minutes I spent contemplating it this deal died.

I have this in King size and man it's amazing. It's held up well and the storage under is simply vast. I put my old queen platform bed disassembled under there plus tons of other stuff clearing up space out of our closet. The downside is lifting it up can be heavy and might be a struggle for some people, you need a bit of muscle. Once it's up, it's fine and stays in place, but I still keep a hand on it just in case.

You won't go far with those slats. Should have solid base if you want to go without a box spring.
