This restored Midea Duo portable air conditioner is valued for strong cooling, dual hose efficiency, inverter operation, and the ability to handle large rooms without breaker trips. Several units arrived looking new and worked well for months, with some cooling quickly and running quietly enough to be tolerable. The main drawback is inconsistent refurb quality, with reports of missing adapters, remotes, wheels, dirty hoses, error codes, and even full water buckets on arrival. Warranty and returns also appear limited, so the savings come with real condition and support risk.

Just received my unit from Walmart today. It looked new but came in a refurbished box. It didn't blow cold air and was flashing a P1 error. Turned out the water bucket was full. It worked great as soon as we emptied the water. I'm happy about the price but was taken back by the water issue. I'm surprised it didn't spill all over the box while shipping.
FFS. They shipped it with the full water bucket?! You can't make this shit up

I bought one of these last March from Walmart for the same price. Mine came in a pristine retail box and was brand new as far as I could tell. It came with all the accessories in sealed packages and the unit didn't have any signs of use.

I let it sit upright for 24 hours before turning it on because it was delivered on its side. Once I turned it on it started blowing cold air within a minute. I've used it dozens of times, sometimes continuously for multiple days, and it hasn't given me a single issue so far.

This unit replaced a Toshiba inverter dual hose unit I bought from Walmart 4 years ago at full price. It was fine the first 2 summers but had an error the third summer and wouldn't blow cold. I bought the extended warranty so I contacted Walmart, and after some back and forth with tech support they gave me a full refund. I gave that unit away and bought this Midea model. Hopefully this will last longer.

Has anyone put one in the garage and duct up into attic? I don't have a window in garage.
If I'm not mistaken garages use more fire resistant materials to slow the spread of a fire to the rest of the house. Cutting a port could n gate this benefit. But I could be wrong.

Costco sells these for $400 new. Yes, it's more $$ but can't beat that lifetime return policy. I bought 2 (I'm a renter, house has no AC) and they work GREAT. WAY too much BTU for a bedroom though, I would go with a much smaller unit. One of these in a bedroom on high (doors open) keeps my entire 4br upstairs at comfortable temps if I start running it before the house starts heating up.

I think they go for around $50. This was the same part mine didn't come with.

Usually attic air is too hot and the AC won't be able to do a good job.

Mine arrived today. Looks like new, but just like others, it's missing the 90-degree adapter for vertical windows. We use the same model under a different brand (Keystone) at work and what we did there was just gently twist the hose 90 degrees. It works just fine.

I bought the 4 in 1 model and the main fan was cracked, as soon as it spun up it would make a horrible loud knocking sound. Apparently this was a really common issue with these.

The warranty provider was useless and I ended up getting a full refund and kept the unit since it's not worth it to ship back, ended up buying a replacement fan and fixed it myself.

Anyway, beware the fan issue, and I recommend getting the 4 in 1 model which comes with heat as well. I probably use the heating function more than the cooling.

I bought two of these and lost the dice roll both times. Both units were missing the window attachment for horizontally sliding windows. Customer service from Midea didn't help and said to return it. Returns at Walmart were easy, but require you to bring it into a store. Sounds like some people got lucky, but it's a hassle if you don't. Not sure why they're allowed to market these as "Like New" condition and claim that all accessories are included when the QC is as poor as it is.
Kinda similar experience. I bought two. One works decent but has error code. The other one looks really used for a long time. Significantly louder than the previous one and for some reason the second unit trip my circuit. Ends up returning both
