they do work very well, the screw at the tip makes it so its almost self drilling. just be care about nails and such, will dull it instantly, but that is true with all bits

Diablo actually has self-feed bits that will cut right through nails, and they can be sharpened after they eventually wear down. They're much more expensive, but well worth it if you're worried about hitting a nail.
