The Fitbit Charge 6 stands out as a compact fitness tracker with strong battery life, heart rate graphs, sleep tracking, and handy watch features like timers, text message previews, and call vibrations. The gold finish is described as easy to pair with many band colors, and replacement bands are widely available. The main concerns are the clunky on device interface, weak Google app integration, and reports of boot loops or hardware failures after about a year. It feels like a capable tracker if the software tradeoffs and longevity risk are acceptable.
The Charge 6 can record heart rate all day and display a graph plus current readings.
The Charge 6 can sample heart rate more frequently during actively tracked exercise sessions.
The Charge 6 offers nearly a week of battery life for day-to-day use.
The premium AI-powered analysis is optional, while basic stats tracking still works.
The Charge 6 can enter boot loops after the warranty period ends, with replacement as the only fix.
Fitbit hardware reliability can drop after about a year, with some units dying earlier.
Fitbit's app and support changes can limit compatibility, including older devices losing app support.
The Google Health app experience can be text-heavy and the device interface can feel clunky.

But I do find the Charge 6 interface (on the device) to be pretty clunky and unrefined. If your main interest is step counting and watch functionality, it's solid (but pretty pricey for that alone, even at $80). But the watch faces are largely uninspiring and integration with other Google apps, like Youtube Music, is surprisingly weak.
So. . .overall, not too good, not too bad. The Google Health app is awful: all AI-based walls of text.
ETA: I see some new comments reporting issues w/this device. I have had one since November, 2023, use it every day & it's never had a problem.
