RockAuto is a low-cost source for name brand auto parts, especially when the needed part is hard to find or when closeouts and same warehouse items line up. The 5 percent code can still make a real difference on already cheap parts, and the catalog tools help spot clearance items and avoid extra shipping. Shipping can climb fast across multiple warehouses, and some orders have arrived wrong, damaged, stale, or with fit issues. Customer service is handled online, with mixed experiences on returns and replacements, so it works best when you are not in a hurry.
RockAuto can be cheaper than local auto parts stores after shipping and the 5% discount are included.
RockAuto's catalog and warehouse indicators can help shoppers avoid extra shipping by keeping items from the same warehouse.
RockAuto may provide prepaid return labels and fast replacements when an order issue is handled through the online process.
RockAuto closeout and clearance items can arrive brand new and sealed at unusually low prices for some parts.
RockAuto orders can incur higher shipping costs when items ship from multiple warehouses, which can lead to order abandonment.
RockAuto customer service can be difficult to reach by phone and may refuse help for fit problems.
RockAuto closeout inventory can include wrong parts or missing components that may be non-returnable.
RockAuto can halt shipments to Arizona during checkout due to a sales tax dispute.

For those rebuilding spindles on their zero turn mower, Rock currently has SKF RA100RR bearings for $10.15 after 5% discount, which is a very good price on a premium grade bearing. They don't fit all zero turns of course but are a popular part for prosumer and commercial machines.

Second, I have been wrenching as both a profession and a hobby for about 25 years now, and there are very few things I will go to Oreilly for outside of something urgent.
I hear all the folks about the paying for shipping, and how it adds up if parts have to ship from multiple warehouses, but the whole catalog helps you avoid that if you use it. Once you've added a part to the catalog, the rest of the parts that will ship from the same warehouse will have a little truck next to them. If you're adding parts that don't have the little truck, there's going to be additional shipping. And sometimes I will if I'm dead set on getting the OE brand (Denso, Hitachi, etc.) vs just the cheapest. The fact that I can choose is a huge win for me.
Lastly, I know it's common to always see "Free Shipping" everywhere these days, but nothing is free. That shopping cost is not being paid by the seller out of the kindness of their hearts, you are paying for it through the margin on the things you buy. RockAuto charging for shipping is because their margin is extremely low, and they would be out of business if they tried to ship everything for free.
Almost invariably, the total cost after shipping, tax, and the usual 5% discount is cheaper than Oreilly, AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc.
