Anyone else use eufy cameras who can weigh in on if this is a good deal?

E42s are at the lowest price they've ever been. For the type of camera (wireless, rotating camera), it's the nearly lowest of all their offerings. The E30 is $90 right now, in comparison. It's less feature rich but it all depends on what you're looking for.

The Homebase 3 is typically $100-$125 on a good deal.

If you're looking at the 4 cam + homebase bundle you're coming out about about $180 ahead of buying them individually at a "good price". If you compare normal prices then it's even more so (the reported 38% off).

I use the E42 with the Homebase3. It works really well. You will need to buy a 2.5" SSD for the Homebase. I use the solar panel on both of mine with zero issues. I have a 500GB hard drive in mine and holds about 2 months of recordings. If you hardwire the power it will record 24/7 and will eat up a lot of your storage. The AI detection is a little finicky. It does take a few seconds to decrypt the recordings from the Hombase when you are trying to view the recordings. Other than those few issues, the quality is great.

everything i've seen on eufy has been pretty stellar. this is far from their top of the line cam/nvr, but it should be good? I'm curious as to solar performance. WA state here.

i read in a forum that if you live in a crap place like I do or it's not in sunlight, put it under a light you keep on all night and it'll charge enough.

I have 3 Eufy solar cameras for over 3 years and they all charged constantly. However, the Eufy app is very slow and bringing up videos is a notable delay and lag.

Format the memory card or SSD.

Do we need WiFi for this setup? I need to install this at a place that doesn't have WiFi.

Anyone know why the S340 [amazon.com] is more expensive than this?

We moved back in April and I bought this bundle for $500 and I thought they were a great deal then. Very happy with the cameras. The solar panels keep the battery topped off, despite having some extended heavy rains here lately. The cameras will detect people and rotate/pan to follow them. You can also assign people's faces and the notifications will let you know when they're seen, or (supposedly) ignore them, for notification purposes. That last feature has been hit or miss for me.

I do keep mine on "balanced" so the clips are 10-30 seconds long. I put a 1TB SSD that I had on hand in it and so far 2 months of footage, with from anywhere between 25 & 100 clips a day and am only using 110GB of storage. I also only have 3 of the cameras set up at the moment. Can't decide where to put the last one.
