Normally $50 a year for unlimited visits to California State Parks, California residents may apply for a digital pass for free (up to 4 guests) right now. The Historian Passports celebrates both Juneteenth and the nation's 250th anniversary.

For California residents only, apply here [reservecalifornia.com] by July 6, 2026 and visit over 30 historic state parks across California, through the end of the year. Access will begin on Juneteenth. (In all, California have over 280 State Parks).

FYI - This pass is not for all state parks. It is for a limited number (33) of parks with the SHP (State Historic Park) designation listed under a link in this article: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=30966 (under the link "Historian Passport Terms and Conditions")
