I saw an ad campaign on FBMP and signed up, seems to be legit for Cali residents!

Apparently you connect your vehicle account to smartcar(plaid for smart car apps) and it passes the charging session data to this govt sponsored program. For every kWh dispensed outside of your "home address" between 10AM-3PM, you get 20 cents back up to $15/mo plus $25 signup bonus with invite code.

The trick is to change your home address to somewhere you wouldn't typically charge. I guess it's a campaign to not waste renewal stored energy or something idk.

Seems there are multiple programs you can participate in with ev.energy, some of which are tied to 2 utility companies...either SCE or PG&E. The SCE EV Shift program looks more lucrative ($50 startup bonus), so if you're able to do both, that'd be great.
link to that one! i prefer the ones that don't have to link to PUC's

$15 a month isn't worth it to me. Thanks for confirming.
I assume the $25 signup bonus isn't worth it for you neither! But it's all automatic per month when u charge once you connect your ev account

I use this with a DCFC in my area that costs 25c/kWh so I'm essentially only pay 5c/kWh after rebate which is nice. My vehicle has a 135kWh capacity so I max out rebate in one charging session

SCE EV Shift (bigger incentive than PG&E, not that you can choose your PUC)

Once you've set up your account and connected your car to the account, do you need to somehow use the ev.energy app to charge your car or does the rebate just happen automagically?

Automatically, I believe it polls your smartcar app every few minutes to sync the charging history

So you need to install the ev.energy app on your phone to do that or can it do it without installing the app?

You just need to sign up with website and link your vehicle accounts not necessarily download the app

For Teslas this is actively monitoring location of set up during a drive. Anyway I can avoid this.

any idea if the $15 is per vehicle or per account? have 2 tesla's, so would it make more sense to create an account with the wife's info and link one of them to her account?
