This is weird - the price is $350 only if you let Best Buy set up the phone for Verizon or AT&T (though it says the phone remains unlocked); they charge $100 more to leave it for you to choose your own carrier. Is the setup that they install all of Verizon's bloatware? Is that why they offer the discount?

They don't install anything, the phone come already with it, the bootloader is locked and you will see the carrier logo whenever you turn on the phone even if it's unlocked, also whenever samsung release an update you have to wait till your carrier push the update, some bloatware can be removed and some cannot, just disabled.

Is this better than a refurbed s22+ ? Apple killed an iphone of mine with an update last year and a 3 year old Pixel 6a just went crazy on me. My 2019 Android 9 works great. I don't want to spend 1k on a new phone that will have issues like the 6a had. I like older phones safe from updates lol
