Mine is set to renew July 2.
Went to account, clicked walmart+ button at top, clicked cancel membership. Immidiately saw 5 minute timer, clicked redeem offer. My renewal date still shows July 2nd, but now there's '$49' displayed next to it. I assume it'll use my card on file.
Oh, then I received an email verifying it'll renew at $49.
Im impressed how easy they made it.

Went to cancel in the app and it gave me a countdown timer to renew at $49. Already got email confirmation. WM+ at that price is a good value for us.
My membership doesnt expire until November, but it gave me the offer and I'm getting another year of wm+ for $49!
f🤬🤬k amazon prime!!!!!
I was good through April 2027, went to cancel my membership in the app, and I got the offer for $49/year. I clicked that offer, and I'm now renewing next April for $49.
Thanks!

Does anyone know if you can use this with a pre paid debit card that you load with this $50 amount to use. Pre paid debit card or even one of those virtual CC numbers that you can buy online. Does anyone know? Not just assuming but has anyone actually done either of these themselves for free?
It says that you get a year of even Paramount+ or Peacock for a year with this year of Walmart+. I would like to know if anyone can answer my question here if they have used a pre paid debit card or virtual credit card to set this up. If you get a year of Peacock including in this 1 year of Walmart+ I am wanting to know so I can gift this to someone.
Thank you.

well, wal mart is the main/only chain around here besides one grocery chain.
first, wm+ it gives you a 10c discount on murphy/wm gas,i figured up even at me only driving 11k miles a year that saves me about 50 bucks a year and pays for the membership at 49, or half of it at 98 already. also wm/murphy is always the cheapest gas anyway, so youre just getting 10 more cents off.
next, i discovered wm groc delivery (I believe only available with WM+?), amazon doesnt have groc deliv near me. Once you learn it, it's amazing. (theres a certain learning curve to shopping for groc online the first couple times, then you get it)
but on top of all that, theres the one pay card that i also believe is only available with wm plus. it givers 5% cash back, all the time.
Basically for durable goods I'm only shopping at Amazon (which I have the 5% CB Amazon prime card too) or Wal Mart, and groc at Wal mart, so I basically get 5% back on nearly everything I buy. including groceries. thats amazing and not even considering the gas, way more than pays for the membership.
also, theres a fair amount of stuff you can get next or same day free shipping at wm, that you cant from amazon w/prime, at least where i live. so its kinda a case by case basis, but in a lot of cases wal mart is the better option for things i used to buy at amazon. it's sort of crazy the stuff wm ships (not delivery, so no tip business) for completely free, no tipping. including 12 packs of soda, and paper towels. i get both of those items by themselves a ton, and it always feels like i'm stealing getting them delivered free the next or same day lol. but for straight groceries, it is a 35 minimum plus the tip thing. but like i say a lot of odd things like soda and paper towels they dont consider groc so it goes under shipping so no minimum and no tip to order them by themselves.
they do put a 10% tip in the groc delivery with wm by default, but you can easily adjust it down. i just go by feel and usually adjust it down a bit. so if i buy 90 of groc and they put in 9 tip, i'll adjust it to 6. idk why that just feels about right to me. but i think you easily save that much in time and a little gas/car wear too, and i also found to some extent i spend less when grocery shopping online due to less impulse purchases. if you wanted to be a miser you can do no tip.
the delivery future is great and i love watching it unfold. my car had the water pump go out recently, i live alone so in past years i'd have to get a ride (its a 08 and many simple jobs I can do myself). This time, Oreillys delivered the $100 part thru doordash for $7 in 2.5 hrs lol. Great. Increasingly I suspect cars will be an option not a necessity, especially with uber etc as well.
