I've had eufy cams for five years. Never had an update cause issues. Only problem I've ever had is that the cameras, which I have mounted just under my second story, don't always pick up movement. From what I've read, this is a known issue. I just haven't had time to lower them.

Updates to the app are abysmal. Your cameras will stop functioning. Support is clueless and you wind up being the guinea pig for them. You will spend hours doing their work and you WILL eventually give up. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!!

I've had multiple eufy cameras. I was initially happy with them but eventually started to hate them. My eufy door bell camera frequently misses movements. The solar cameras that are 3 years old have all stopped working. If I charge them, they'll stay on for a month or 2. Even the solar cams miss movements. I have since moved to POE cams and they are amazing. I cannot in good conscience recommend eufy anymore.
Love my Eufy cams. The only issue we've had was that our antiquated Homebase 2 started randomly resetting itself after many years of use. We upgraded to a Homebase 3 and have not had further isses. I've been wanting a set of solar cams, grabbing this! I can sell the Homebase Mini for a few bucks.

It could be your phone. I've had HB2 for 5 years now, but I used to have to battle the app to play videos and load live feeds. Sometimes it would take several tries, but this was on budget phones. On my current high end phone, it functions like it should. It shouldn't require a higher end phone, but in my case the problems disappeared.
Another issue is having the cameras too close to other wifi devices like routers. You will see packet drops until you space them adequately apart.
So I have the old Homebase 2 and from what I'm seeing I need to get the Homebase 3 for some of the newer cameras but I've yet to figure out if my older cameras will work. Now I'm seeing this Homebase mini???
So, this looks like it supposed to be a budget version of the E47 model camera bundle, but I'm struggling to see what some of the teadeoffs are. The big one that stands out is the homebase mini. It only uses micro sd up to 1 TB, so hard drives are not an option.
What else am I missing on why these are... less than the other options?
Idk about these particular cams but I've been running eufy for years replacing Wyze. It works well enough. The app isn't the greatest but it does the job. It's good enough for the $.
