I bought a different brand a few years ago, one 12" and one 5?8" I.D., the 1/2" delivers much less water and I'd never buy one again.

Note you also have to clip the 10% coupon on the product page for this price. Or at least I did.

I've heard that 1/2" is just not worth it at length, it's noticeable slower. Fine for watering a garden, annoying if using with higher volume pressure washer, etc.

I agree with that. Like you said, good for lawn or garden, but when it comes to, say, pressure washing, we had to replace the reel with a larger hose.

Indeed, pressure washing effectiveness is often more reliant on volume than pressure.

I bought a 1/2 its sufficient enough for everything but pressure washing so I bought a spitter and have my old hose hooked up too. Also this is my 3rd yr same brand but older model

I have the 1/2 130ft one and honestly its not bad. the mechanism to retract works well, little strong but still controllable.
I do agree that the 1/2 inch diameter is not great for water pressure but its not useless. its great for watering my small garden which is all i need.
If the 5/8 were similar price I would definitely recommend that one but you can not go wrong for 67 bucks for this version.
so far its been a great upgrade to the plastic rollable hose reel that my house comes with. one more thing I like about these retractable hose reels is how easy it is to come off the post so you can store it your home during winter time.
