As someone mentioned be mindful that eBay is cheaper, refurbished BUT offers Allstate 2 years and anker/eufy is really responsive.

Also, I bought it a few days ago and just reached to Anker and they offered me partial refund (price match)

On a related note, I tested a Ring Pro and it almost never caught any motion events: Even with max sensitivity, and clip duration.

My Tapo D225 is great and works as expected.

One BIG negative about this camera is that after you configure it with the app, you cannot easily change the wireless network later. If you want to change the WiFi network (perhaps you change SSID name or get a new router with different SSID), you must remove and reset the doorbell, then set up from scratch again. Major pain in the rear!

Other eufy cameras can easily have their WiFi network changed, but not this one. No idea why not. Search for this camera on Reddit and you'll see it documented there.

I think that Tapo d225(it's battery and wired)does have this feature if it's wired, it will not work if you're using the battery feature.

This sucks. The notification is right away but the video clip doesn't come sometimes 10-15 min later. I also have the Tapo and they come instantly.

I just bought the S330 off ebay refurbished for the same price to replace my first gen nest. I believe it's the same doorbell with homebase 2 included.
Homebase has 15gb of storage and can be expanded. I used ethernet to homebase.

I have a few issues with it before installation, testing the doorbell before wiring it. It's slower to connect than my nest when accessing the respective 1st party apps. When I add it to my google home it's only accessible as a camera and I couldn't actually get it to load initially. Apparently I can't get ring notifications through my google devices. I have an unused echo dot which I've read actually works with the doorbell. I would probably set up some custom behaviors in hubitat since smartthings is not directly supported either.

I'm thinking of returning due to the latency compared to nest. I hate paying for a nest subscription...

Have 2 of them. Had one for 2.5 years and it was solid and fast no issues. It was hardwired and battery. Left that one at the old place and bought a new one since I really like this doorbell camera. Still works great and can get a live feed pretty quickly.
I've had one for over 5 years and I would disagree. It's probably more likely the older model is just subpar and the newer ones work better but I think mine has 2gb data storage which captures at most 2 days if I want some reliability. It does still miss people walking up to my house all the time.

I have a wired version of this doorbell. It has not been great...latency to bring up ring events is terrible. Most times, when an event occurs, it doesn't want to connect to show what is going on. Additionally, this was sitting on a wall facing WSW on my covered porch. Afternoon/setting sun would get this thing hot and it would trigger false doorbell rings all the time. We'd unplug the ring chime because it would get the dogs going everytime. Ticket with Eufy was that nothing was wrong because the events were inconsistent. I finally got fed up with the latency, lack of continuous recording, and phantom rings and removed it. I went with a ring pro and it is snappy compared to the Eufy. I did like the parcel view and alerts when a parcel was dropped but it also gave phantom alerts about parcel pick-up and the parcel was still sitting there. Add in that the wired version I had didn't connect to any of the bases for continuous storage and it was obsolete the moment I bought it with no real plans to let it connect to bases (but the same version in wireless would - go figure).

Had this for 2 years for front door, wired, no issues. Bought 2 more for gate entrances further out. Handy prerecorded messages provide quick guidance for UPS drivers / Doordash / Uber Eats when they press the doorbell at the perimeter gate.

Additional units worked so well as security cameras I just bought two more. I buy an extra battery for each and just swap them all out every week or so when I go for a walk.

Also had Eufy S340 and S4 mounted high on a tree, but the City made me take them down as some Karens complained how it tracked them during their walks and made them uncomfortable.

So now I just have a bunch of E340s at the perimeter instead. They're so cheap and effective.

Also have a full UniFi Protect system going but nothing beats the Eufy thumbnail notifications straight to my Apple Watch. I'll take the tradeoff with their iffy temporary cloud storage fiasco.

Worked with my existing chime at the beginning and then stopped working. I upgraded the transformer to 16V 30VA but still doesn't work.
