I just wish Govee had responsive remotes like Hue for their light fixtures.

The apps are cool but if you need to jump into those or use your voice just to turn them on, they become tedious. The Hues work cause their remote/hub are responsive so it's simple for non techies in the house to regularly use them.

The Govee buttons I've used so far all suck in terms of responsiveness so these lights just end up being more annoying than their worth imo

this light doesn't get super bright, but it can produce an array of very attractive lighting effects and some really neat colors. I would recommend a backup or secondary light if you need brightness (say like in a kitchen) but this is terrific in a bedroom.

I'm deep in the Govee ecosystem and if I learned anything at all - it's that version 2 will have more lumens 😂

Still better than the economy line ones that use the Tuya app. Those lose sync after a power blip and go into morse code mode flashing. Quite alarming to wake up to.

Cannot say this loud enough. My office studio has been an evolving tech-demo for RGBICW / etc and the amount of people who wanted this kit- until they saw the UN-intuitive access is Most visitors. Love the cool gear, much of it needs simpler on / off switches

I love my Govee lights when they work. However, I will not buy another Govee product until they fix the connectivity issues in the app. So many times I have to force quit the app and restart because the Wifi and/or bluetooth actions are not responding. And sometimes, even force quitting and restarting doesn't work and I go to bed with the lights on in my house b/c of it. It sucks.

Yes, I don't understand the lumens on some of their stuff 😂 They have a 15" ceiling light that's $90 and 4300 lumens, the new 21" one is $200 and only slightly more lumens at 5000. Have wanted to get something super bright to replace my old hanging 5 bulb fixture over my stairs.

I actually started using standard floor lamps or designing/making my own 3d printed fixtures and using their bulbs with plug in hanging light cords as the price per lumen on some of their stuff is crazy high. Like, their floor lamp 2 is 1700 lumens and $100. You can just buy a two pack of 1600 lumen bulbs for $36 and a $20-30 floor lamp to stick them in. Then you end up with something that has replaceable bulbs instead of being a throwaway item.

I bought a bunch of Govee products as of late (they had a surge of new products). I will say consistently their instructions aren't the best. However, the products have been pretty solid. App needs some work.

These pendant lights replaced two over the kitchen island traditional lighting and wow, impressive. The two tone color combined with multiple layers of LEDs make for an impressive lighting setup. My only concerns are: 1) Housing is entirely plastic, which I am not sure how it will do over time especially for point 2) Not sure how cleaning will be. With the glass one, soap, water and scrub daddy always did the trick given it eventually gets hazy from cooking and oils / dust. This may be a bit challenging to clean.

Agreed. I stopped buying the throwaway ones, especially when using them in pairs as I'd have to dump both or find another use for the solo one.

The answer to most things in regards to better control over devices is Home Assistant or OpenHAB. Its also matter compatible so any matter controller can operate it, you only need govee app to set up the light then matter can take over from there.
