I received my $1249 one two weeks ago… and then I received an $1149 one and returned the first one lol. Fantastic bargain at $550 off of a beast of a machine! The 15" Air design is like the most perfect MacBook Pro I wanted throughout the dark latter 2010s but with today's incredible Apple silicon.
Thumbs down from the salty people who didn't score one I guess..

My invoice says, "Sold by Amazon, Supplied by OTHER". I called customer service and they said they were unable to say say who is supplying the laptop. This is sketching me out.

Honestly if you're thinking about it, I'd just do it given that prices are about to go up potentially in a big way
Based on what exactly?

pretty common stuff with Amazon, if listing showed shipped+sold by Amazon, I would not fret.

Commingled inventory. Super common with Amazon. Even THEY don't know sometimes where a product came from.

Yeah, that was not the terminology on my confirmation. What it said was "Sold by Amazon, Supplied by OTHER".

I understand.

If you're looking at an Amazon order and it says "Supplier: Other" (or similar wording), it usually just means Amazon isn't displaying or categorizing the specific seller/supplier in that field.
Common reasons:
  • Sold and shipped by Amazon but the internal supplier isn't shown.
  • A third-party supplier/vendor provided the inventory, but Amazon groups it under "Other."
  • The item came through a fulfillment or distribution channel where the original supplier isn't exposed to customers.
By itself, "Supplier: Other" is not a red flag and doesn't mean the product is counterfeit or unusual. It's often just a generic placeholder in Amazon's order or shipment details.
--
It could be commingling, worst case scenario per unreliable free Gemini AI search.. but it also could by generic or means they just aren't exposing the logistics.
Could be Ingram Micro, Synnex, etc. MAJOR distributors of electronics parts that work directly with Apple. I would not worry unless you receive a dodgy product that looks like it's been bunted 80x or fell off a truck.

My 24/1TB Starlight came in the same cardboard exterior box (with Apple perforations, external SN sticker, brown box) as if I ordered it from Apple.com
Pretty sure it showed supplied by: other too. In my order history it now shows 'sold by Amazon.com' underneath the product title in invoice details.

In other words, I would not worry about it. If you are that worried about it, return it or don't buy in the first place. But I think people get carried away.
