Obligatory mention that this is for the Standard plan where you only have access to your audiobooks as long as you have a current membership. By contrast, the Premium Plus plan lets you keep the audiobooks you buy with a credit even if you cancel. However, if you buy something with the $20 credit, that should still be accessible if you cancel.

May be better to just join a local library, loan out audio books from there.

If only Amazon weren't a literal supervillain and didn't have exclusive deals with authors. Try getting a certain popular dungeon series at your library.

Some of the books I want to listen to aren't available from my regional library system or from the free Hoopla service. i only use Audible for those.

Not a fan of the standard plan, but the $20 was a deal clincher.

I don't know why, and it's not too much of a difference, but I received an offer for 3 Months Free plus the $20 credit. Makes it a no-brainer. At least the books I buy with credit will be mine to keep. 10+ year Prime member and have done 20 or so of these promotions over the years.

Yes, I hate the "standard" plan. I don't think you even have access to the books you listen to with this Standard Plan the entire three months because you can only listen to one book per month. Thumbs up for the deal because of the $20 credit but I hate the new plan and I don't like that this is only $17 (plus tax) net credit.

In case people are wondering how to spend their $20 credit, the best value I found was the hobbit Narrated by: Rob Inglis.
Or you can get George Orwell's 1984, and Animal Farm for $20.

My understanding is that you "select" one book per month to add to your library. As long as you have a sub, you can listen to those books that you selected in the past. Drop your sub and those books get "locked" until you resub.
I guess the old promo with the "credit" (where you select and keep the book unlocked in your library forever) wasn't as profitable for them, which was why they created this subscription model/plan.

Thanks fo the callout. I usually see this towards the year-end for the Premium Plus and almost signed up.

Following the link I got a blank page on Amazon. I was signed in at the time. Singed out and the link worked. However, as expected, once I signed back in I was not eligible for the offer. My last free offer expired 12/24/25 so a few days less than 6 months ago. I'll try again closer to the expiration date in case that helps. Also recommend using libation to keep my books forever.

Also the standard plan doesn't include the Plus Catalog. Granted, the Plus Catalog isn't what it once was but it might make a difference to someone.

I'm eligible, and I should probably take it, but I'm spoiled by getting 3 credits for $3 over and over across the last 10 years of promos. The $20 credit won't even buy one book at 'normal' prices they list Frown
