For those that might care: these are primarily collagen, which is a low-quality protein source compared to whey. It continues virtually no leucine, which is the key trigger for muscle growth.
This is incorrect. These bars are approximately 50/50 collagen and whey.

It depends on the flavor, but if you check any of the flavors below, whey protein is listed before collagen.

-Salted Caramel
-Cookie Dough
-Cookies & Cream

Other flavors will list collagen before whey. The rumor came from Reddit where someone is trying to get a crowdfunded lab test.

Also, it's not like there are no benefits to collagen protein. Yes, it's incomplete, but if you're getting your daily volume of amino acids, that offsets it.

Agreed (mostly 😉).

The PB cup has 17g of protein with a daily value of 20% (in comparison, Barebells are around 20g and 36%).

This means the protein quality score is quite low. Gemini thinks these are about 10g of whey and 7g of collagen. So I stand corrected about these being primarily collagen.

Nonetheless, if eaten alone, 10g of whey is not enough to trigger MPS.

Like you implied, if you're getting enough total protein per day (like 1g/pound), the amino acid profile of a particular snack isn't going to matter as long as you're not eating like 3 of these bars to get there.

But if you're not, then the low quality of these bars is something to be aware of. Thus the FYI.

I eat built and barbells.. but built has more protein per calorie. They are 140-150 calories while barbells is 200-220

Yup, good points.

Not all bars are created equally - depends on the person's goals, budget, daily protein intake, taste preferences, etc.

If they're cutting and already getting plenty of protein (with a large majority being high-quality), then Built Puffs are solid bars. David are the best, but they're also ridiculously expensive and kind of boring/bland.

I got a few of the coconut packs - The factory seconds were barely a big deal, but yes, very much squished. Totally not a problem though in terms of taste. The only negative is that the chocolate melted a bit from shipping, so they were a bit harder to take out of the packaging. But found keeping them in the fridge helped a great deal. Overall would recommend for the price point!

Awesome price. The macros are decent on these, and Costco keeps raising the price.
