Then you'll love The Expendabelles, which is in pre-production I believe. No, I didn't make that up.
That's unfortunately quite common, where the studio doesn't bother to release a 4K version of Directors Cut / Extended / Final Cut versions of films. Sometimes it's because 4K material isn't available for the additional content, but often it's because they don't think they'll sell enough copies to justify the cost to remaster another release.
Apple is always the better buy; free upgrades to 4K if you own the HD... better bitrate, etc. The only time I'd choose Amazon over Apple is 1. I have credits on Amazon that are expiring. 2. I don't own an Apple device to buy this stuff with.
