This step through commuter ebike appears to be a 500W motor with 1000W peak power and a battery under 8 amp hours, so the real draw is short trips and pedal assist rather than long throttle only rides. The bike is widely described as topping out around 20 mph, which fits Class 2 expectations better than the 21.7 mph listing claim. That speed mismatch matters because local access rules can depend on it. Shipping damage is also a concern with low cost ebikes, so added insurance may be worth considering.
Commuters riding where Class 2 limits matter, because the bike is likely a compliant 20 mph model that fits places with speed restrictions.
Casual riders wanting light assist on neighborhood errands, because pedal-assist use can stretch runtime to about 1.5 hours and roughly 40 miles per charge.
Class 2 is capped at 750W and 20 mph, so a 21.7 mph claim would not fit Class 2. The bike is also described elsewhere as a 500W motor with 1000W peak and a 20 mph top speed, suggesting the 21.7 mph figure is likely a listing error.
The bike is described as a 500W motor with 1000W peak for takeoff and a 7.8Ah battery, not an 8Ah pack. At 374.4Wh, that battery is small enough that runtime depends heavily on how much you pedal versus using throttle only.
Full-throttle riding can be around 45 minutes of runtime, while pedal-assist can stretch it to about 1.5 hours. A similar 374.4Wh battery has also been used for roughly 40 miles per charge at pedal-assist level 1 around 17 mph.
Shipping insurance is worth considering because inexpensive e-bikes are often cheaply packaged, which raises the chance of shipping damage. That matters more on a low-cost bike where a damaged frame, wheel, or battery can erase the savings.
Where is a Class 2 bicycle defined as having a top speed of 21.7mph instead of 20mph? Anywhere? It seems really stupid of them to have not capped it 1.7mph slower to keep it a legal bicycle.
If you think the cops are gonna stop you over 1mph you worry way too much

I would care if it was a class 2 or not. It has already been discussed that the 21.7mph stated in the listing is probably a mistake and that this bike is likely a compliant 20mph Class 2 that would be allowed in places that have such restrictions.
Did anyone actually recieve the bike yet? Mine are still showing "package in preparation"
update: seller asked me to cancel order
Mine has not shipped yet, but I also didn't receive a request to cancel the order.
EDIT: I contacted them today, they basically said the same thing, that I should cancel the order. What a joke. Now they have no e-bikes at all in their store.
