In store only.

Starts from 6/21/26.

Note: Staples removed the picture from their local ad showing the fee waived. Once live, and if available this posting will be updated.

FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

Mastercard is slightly better than Visa. Some online gambling will accept Mastercard DEBIT deposit whereas they won't with Visa DEBIT. So essentially you're using a credit card to indirectly fund the account.

Does this mean we can expect the same deal for $200 Visa GCs next week?

I hope you are doing well with the gambling. Most people aren't so lucky. House always wins over time

I can use a 5% card to generate frequent flyer miles quickly, but how do you easily liquidate these if you want to convert the debit card into cash?

Picked up these during the last promotion with no issues. Just remember to keep the activation receipt until you've drained the balance.

Yes I am. I'm up by a lot and it's reported to IRS. House relies on the 10% vig to make most of their money. Having Chase Ink giving me 5% cash back on Staples means that the house advantage over me is only 5%. Also, I only bet on sports that I know very well, I don't touch anything that I know nothing about. I got lucky I won big early and I only risk the winning and it just snowballed.

I know how GCs work but is the "deal" the fact that it doesn't have a purchase fee?

Yes because certain credit cards will earn 5 points per dollar on the purchase (example: Chase Ink). So $200 = 1000 points earned. Normally the activation fee would make it not worth it.

A standard baseline for chase points is $0.01 per point (you can get much more value than this when transferring to travel partners for things like reward flights) so 1000 points is equivalent to $10. If you pay an $8 activation fee, you only really earned $2 worth of points. Under this deal you earn the full amount.

Not directly. But some credit cards accept DEBIT card payment. So basically those credit card turns into automatic 5% cash back on top of its native cash back because I'm using my Chase Ink (which has 5% cash back on Staples) to pay for my credit card bills.

Also, depending on where you live, some merchants charge surcharge on credit card payments. If you use these Visa/MC DEBIT cards from Staples, you're avoiding the surcharges.

OP for this kind of deals probably should include the benefit because every posts without the exception will have people asking why this is such a deal. I summarize my own take.

(1) Some credit card companies will accept DEBIT card payments but never credit cards.
(2) Some online gambling will accept DEBIT card payments but never credit cards.
(3) Some merchants that charge credit card surcharges will not with these because these are DEBIT cards.
(4) This is by far the most powerful of all. You can cause overcharge with these if you know how to do it. I've been doing this for decades and here is the receipt from over 10 years ago: https://slickdeals.net/e/7661982-ultra-dvi-d-24-pin-dual-link-ext-male-female-25ft-far-ultra-100ft-rg58-u-male-to-male-bnc-coaxial-video-cable-far-inveo-3ft-micro-hdmi-cable-1-97-ar-shoprunner-tigerdirect?v=1&page=3&src=&prop=&attrsrc=&peid=93e63e8a-8b4b-44e8-b417-425c012bda29
(5) If you have Chase Ink, you're getting 5% cash back from Staples.
