Get a squat rack with functional trainer that either has higher capacity of weight resistance at 2:1 ratio, or get one with 1:1 ratio which will save you from buying more weight plates and having to move a lot of weight plates around. Of course, a stack of selectable weight stack would be more convenient.
For this price you can get a whole bunch of features. Check out the SlickDeals posted for the Mikolo name brand items.

Any suggestions on a good, appropriately sized rubber mat for it? I used a foam one and it's clearly not up to the task.
It is a 2:1 ratio cable system. That means 165 lb weight stack is only providing 82.5 lbs of real weight resistance on each side. Even if you combine the two functional trainers for a LAT pull, some stronger individuals will exceed the combine weight resistance. also there is no lap bar to restrain you if you use both simulaneously.
