Hoka is falling off for me, not happy with my latest Bondi and the Clifton 10 I just bought is probably going to be returned. Not as comfortable, and don't last long, not worth the premium price anymore

Believe it or not... try Skechers cushioning premiere 3. If that brand is an ick, go for new balance or ON

It's not worth 3x the price of course, they just make more money. But most shoes at this price point usually have better cushioning, and supposedly more durable. It's for people who walk or run a lot, they also likely to have more foot issues in general.

I was a die hard ON shoe brand wearer ever since my first Cloud Monsters a couple years ago. I traveled a ton for work. Long walks in airports and through cities. The Cloud Monsters were great. Took up hiking/trail walking recently and wanted to try something different since my ON were my "work" shoes. I got two pairs of Hokas. The Challengers for more difficult day hikes and the Bondi's for the every day stroll/trail. My Challengers are coming de-laminated on the bottom sole/tread. I've had these Hokas since Jan 20th and wear them maybe once a week if that. If a shoe can't make it 6 months with occasional weekly wear then I'll stick with ON. I put in a warranty claim on one pair of my Cloud Monsters because they started tearing near the toe box edges on both sides near a seam. They shipped me a new pair after I sent them proof of purchase. No interrogation on use or questions of how they were damaged (hoka asked me this for my warranty request). Definitely a difference in service after the sell.

i worry about rocks and debris getting wedged into the holes of On midsoles. did you experience that at all?

I mean it's like with any other product. You can only make as many sales of the early adopters who are willing to pay full price. To continue to capture additional market share you start discounting to attract those more price-sensitive and unwilling to pay full price.
