Note that Swissmatic movement (ETA C10.111) is a really cheap, robotically welded cr@p. It is not a coincidence that the jewels count magically disappeared from the backcase photo on the Joma page.

Are Mido watches basically the same in terms of non-serviceable movements?

Yeah I know. It's the same as the Powermatic 80 right?

Both Powermatic 80 and Mido Caliber 80 are part of the Swatch System51, but they differ from the cheap, welded Swissmatic. Both 80-series movements are serviceable and come in a couple of different "grades" (so to speak), with Mido 80 having 25 jewels and no plastic composite parts (afaik) vs 23 jewels and plastic parts in the lower grades of Powermatic 80. Some cheaper Tissot watches use the lower-grade P80. Hamilton watches use exclusively a higher-grade P80 with 25J and no plastic parts.

In the 9 plus years that I have had my two Tissot Swissmatic watches, I have never had issues with them keeping time or needed the movement replaced.
