I don't know why people always suggest clamp meters when regular ones are posted. I have a clamp meter, used it once. Compared to regular meters they are bulky in a bag and bulky on a workbench. I took the battery out of mine so there is no corrosion and use all the other regular meters I have instead.

Huh? Totally depends on your use case. Some people might prefer it.

Which is fine but if they prefer it they would filter for the clamp. He's right I fix my own stuff and bought a clamp and can't remember the last time I used it.

I would pay more than this not to electrocute myself or receive readings I can trust.

Good to have for home diy. Would not use if for commercial applications. I would prefer this one over harbor freight red under 10 dollars seven function meter.

People make such a fuss over this. Most meters, including the junky Harbor Freight one will tell you volts accurately to two decimal places easily. Do you really care if something is 1.50 volts or 1.51 volts? I know in my daily tinkering it makes no difference. And if you work with high voltages all the time, obviously you're going to spend the money to get yourself something in the Fluke category.

Always handy to have a "disposable" unit kicking around. In for one.

The camels and Amazon price history show that it's been $10 for a while now. What's special about this deal?

For those who already own one, is there any reason to spend more than this for basic home use?

When working on an AC recently, I was getting strange readings on my multimeter that I couldn't figure out. Turns out my multimeter was bad. Luckily I had two with me that day or I'd still be scratching my head.

Clamp meter is good if you need to figure out inrush current for your HVAC compressor, fan motor etc. Good meters measure micro farads of capacitors. They are rugged for everyday use. If you want to test batteries this meter is fine.
