I don't need a dock like this for my MacBook Pro. It already has three USB-C ports and one HDMI port. I connect two 27-inch monitors using two of the USB-C ports, and each monitor provides several USB-A ports plus an RJ45 Ethernet port. The monitors also deliver power over USB-C, so they charge my MacBook as well, eliminating the need for the MagSafe charger.

Not every Mac user has a MacBook Pro. And not every Mac user has monitors with USB-C, and not every monitor that has a USB-C gives extra usb A ports. Also some people may want to only plug one cable into their computer to dock it. Different use cases than yours exist.
