Crazy market, that a laptop from 2021 is still considered a deal at almost $800.

Is this M1 Pro so pricey because of the RAM? Nearly $800 seems like a lot. I could be wrong.

They've been posted here numerous times over the past year and the people here mostly gave positive feedback.

I sold my M1 Pro 16" 16gb 512SSD on FB marketplace about 3 weeks ago for $700. (I bought it for $550) I receieved full asking price - did not negotiate and it took about 5 days to sell.

Mine was is close to mint condition/pristine except a few minor scuffs in various places on the outer shell. 96% battery health with original box, magsafe cable, charger, manuals etc.

I quickly sold my 2017 15" MPB for $1200 (bought for $450 spring 2019) December 2020 right after the M1 Air and 13" M1 Pro were released. it was coming up on 4 years old and Apple laid out the future for their PC's that M-series chips were the future and there weren't many downsides.

Apple devices hold their value, they're premium products and sell for premium prices. Even if they're used and a few years old they still continue to sell for a premium.

iPhones still sell for significantly higher prices than Samsung Galaxy's and Pixels. 2 year old IP 15 Pro Max is around $550-$650 depending on condition and storage Gb.

If you buy used at a good price, you'll rarely lose much - if any money.

I've actually made profits on buying Apple products used and selling used years after I've owned them. Just have to be patient and wait for the right desperate seller that needs quick $ and swoop in and get an excellent deal.

It's not just any laptop though. Macs always hold value compared to PCs.

It's kind of wild that M1 Macs are still holding their value this well after all these years.

Yeah, that's what surprises me. Even after a few years, people still seem happy with them.

It's a five year old laptop. Just because it's an apple doesn't guarantee they'll continue supporting for another 5 years.

Apple usually goes for 10 years with security updates. OS usually gets 7 years.
