This is a good price, but there have been better deals (in my opinion) on other tablets at this price. For example, the Lenovo Idea Tab 11" 2.5K Tablet with folio case and pen has gone on sale for exactly this $169 price at BB and has better display, more ram (and obviously, the folio case and pen). Might be worth waiting to see about any other Prime Day deals available. But if you need a tablet today, this does seem like one of the better deals.
The Galaxy Tab A11+ stands out as a budget Android tablet for everyday use, media, browsing, and light family tasks, with solid audio, decent performance for non gaming apps, and Samsung's long update support. The $169 price is repeatedly framed as strong value, especially versus similarly priced Lenovo options, and the tablet is also seen as useful for a home assistant dashboard. The main drawbacks are the missing S Pen support, no video out, and only 6GB of RAM, which can limit heavier games and make the display feel less impressive than some rivals. It is a practical pick if you want Samsung support and basic tablet duties more than premium extras.
Families buying a basic tablet for kids, because it handles YouTube and casual use well while lasting longer with Samsung's update support.
Samsung's support promise is the main selling point here: the tablet is described as getting 7 years of security updates, and another comment says Samsung confirmed 7 years of both Android OS upgrades and security updates through 2032. That is longer than the Lenovo alternatives discussed in the thread.
$169 is described as a strong price and, for some, the cheapest seen so far, especially since the 11-inch Onn tablets did not get discounted. It is also available at the same price on Amazon for the gray model, and eligible shoppers may see lower education pricing.
It does not support S Pen input or video out over USB-C. That matters if you want pen note-taking or external display output; otherwise Smart View can cover some screen-casting use cases.
It can handle light everyday use, but gaming is a weak spot: Roblox may need low settings and Monster Hunter Now struggled until performance settings were raised to max and RAM was increased from 4GB to 6GB. For browsing, YouTube, email, and Sheets it was reported as smooth.
Battery life is reported as weak, with fast drain and full charges taking hours even on a 56W charger. That makes it less ideal if you expect long unplugged sessions, but it may be fine for a wall-tethered dashboard or casual home use.
I need a new tablet. My old TCL Tab 10 keeps getting stuck on the boot screen. Probably going to have to do a factory reset but I don't want to lose years and years of photos, documents, screenshots, etc on it 😭
Displayport is developed and owned by the VESA - a standards organization that includes Samsung as a member. USB C already defines a displayport out spec, and has since 2014.
Isn't it kinda wild that all of our 50$ phones can output to our TVs but some 200$ tablets can't?
Making a hardware change, "VESA" org or not, is hardly a "1 cent" type implementation.
And I hope you aren't pretending that USB C has been standard since 2014. That would be just silly to even hint that, let alone pretending that TV out via USB C is a given on any and all android devices otherwise....
And a $50 phone vs a $200 tablet is pretty apples and oranges. Most phone pricing is massively subsidized vs tablets which are priced off true cost. Hardware specs on a $50 phone tend to blow $200 tablets out of the water. Ain't that strange?

This deal IMHO... really sucks. And I will tell you why...
1. CPU is too weak... too weak, you can not play simple games on high settings such as Roblox. My daughter wanted to know why are the diamonds and dress, and sparkly stuff so much better on her friends ipads (dress to impress) then her tablet. I found out that her tablet could only play these games at low settings.
2. RAM... 6GB is not enough. The sweat spot is 8GB or more.
3. Appcloud... this is the FIRST tablet sold in the USA that came pre installed with appcloud. AppCloud functions exactly like bloatware and spyware. It comes pre-installed on devices, tracks your usage to show targeted ads, and downloads unwanted apps without your direct approval.
4. Software updates... IMHO, Samsung is one of the worst. Many updates never make it to their devices, Samsung had the most vunerable phones last year, it took them over a year to finally allow google play system to get updated (that is crazy)... there was Landfall, the only zero click virus that only attacked Samsung devices.
5. One UI... so Samsung has been fighting with google for the last ten years about One UI, I consider this bloatware to the extereme and such a weak CPU with only 6GB of RAM is barely hanging on for dear life.
6. Based on prices and specs... Lenovo has sold it's Idea Tab Pro for as cheap as $232.50 (with R A K U T... cash back). So the Idea Tab Pro sells for 270 - 10% cash back ($27.00) = $243. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/ta...=LEN889133
OK... so this is $169 and the Lenovo is about $243... so lets see if the extra money is worth it...
1. Bigger screen 12.7" and screen is better being a IPS display. The Lenovo features a much larger, sharper 12.7-inch display (2944 x 1840 resolution) with a smoother 144Hz refresh rate.
2. CPU is MT8300 considered about as powerful as SD8 Gen 2... can play Roblox at max graphical setting unlike this Samsung.
3. UFC 3.1 (hard drive technology) it is MUCH faster then the Samsung's tablet making it much more snappy.
4. Idea Tab Pro supports active pen input, a fingerprint scanner, and video output via its USB-C port to connect to external displays—features completely missing from the Galaxy Tab A11+
I feel the Lenovo may have four to six years of usage while the A11+ has like 1.5 years.

This is perfect for kids watching youtube. What do you use it for?
This is perfect for kids watching youtube. What do you use it for?
First of all... this tablet is too slow for what you get knowing that the idea pad pro exists for $85 more.
Kids play roblox... just said this tablet can not run roblox on high graphical settings. Told you that was a problem with my kid at one point in time.
There is also a entire philosophy to be had when you have a slowish tablet. Such as..
1. One app at a time
2. One tab at a time
3. Use the app Killsapp to close as many app processes that your are not using.
4. Firefox and Ublock Origin... this alone will stop Gigs of data ever reaching your hard drive.
5. Try to use tablet more like a chrome book... do more thing on chrome then a app.
But while it may be OK for kids watching youtube... there will be come a time when this is just too slow for that. And if you would buy... lets say the Lenovo Tab Pro, it is just bound to last you longer. My PC is 14 years old, I got myself a i7 and installed a clean copy of Windows. If I got my self a Celeron or a i3... I would have walked away from my laptop about 7 years ago. Point is... there are advantages later to buying better now.
Lastly, do you think kids close tabs? or apps? with 6GB of RAM... your kids will learn faster then most about keeping your system clean. I'll be honest... my kid (took over my Tab S9) and when I check the tablet... there are like 90 open tabs in chrome, 20 - 30 open youtube videos and at least a dozen apps or more opened. This is how a kids works. Took me a solid ten minutes to close everything... what was funny was how slow her tablet was and then when half of everything was closed the tablet started becoming fast again... and that is a Tab S9.

Any idea how long will Samsung support this (provides security updates)?
Lets say a thousand years....
SO now lets talk reality... Samsung devices were some of the most prone to getting viruses last year due to how many opened system bugs it has.
In 2025, Samsung devices faced severe security vulnerabilities due to critical zero-days like CVE-2025-21042 and CVE-2025-21043, which allowed attackers to execute remote code and deploy LANDFALL spyware through zero-click exploits. While these flaws triggered emergency global warnings for millions of Galaxy users. We are talking about fully up to date Samsung phones that had a zero click vulnerability meanwhile my seven year Android device that no longer gets updates did not have the same issues as a new samsung device.

Ordered this morning and it was at my doorstep at 3pm. Weird as I don't have Walmart plus..but I'll take it!
Def a great deal. As someone who have tinkered with low/mid range android tablets for ten years, this is a steal. I don't play any games, well except roller coaster tycoon which can run on a potato.
I use it to surf, email, goggle sheets, and watch videos. Seems to be just fine for all of that. No slugness at all. I'll def be using this for the next 7+ years barring an update turning it to crap.

When and where? I don't remember this deal
