Useless. The battery can't be replaced. That means that in harsh outdoor conditions, it will last at most 2–3 years. Planned obsolescence.

Eufy cameras with the Homebase3 are terrible. Each update to the app is a disaster. The software engineers should be fired along with the abysmal support staff. You will become their guinea pig spending countless hours trying to fix their problems. Run!!! Look elsewhere!

I've had that happen once out of the dozens of updates in the past 2 years but for the most part mine have worked fine. That 1 time my cameras were all not recording half of all motion for a few days and I emailed them about 3-4 different times for troubleshooting which did nothing. They released an emergency update to fix the crap update to solve that problem which everyone was experiencing. 1 of the many cameras I have installed occasionally loses connection maybe once every few weeks so I have to restart HomeBase3 which fixes the problem. It isn't the same camera every time either, it seems to happen randomly and at random times. A bit annoying but DEFINITELY worth it to be able to use ALL the camera's functionality without having to pay a subscription that all other brands make you do. Eufy is the only manufacturer that doesn't require a subscription to use all the features of all their products.

Actually there is at lease one other company, Reolink, that's pretty good on not forcing use of their cloud service. I have a few Eufy cameras and tried their HomeBase S3. The cams are okay mostly, but have enough quirks that are constant or come and go that I avoid buying more, and the HomeBase was terrible, though I know there are people who have little issues with it. I just tried a Reolink, and if I didn't already have the Eufy's I probably would chose Reolink over Eufy. Both have some shortcomings but I like the Reolink Android and Windows apps more, and except for the door bells I like some of their cameras more.
