Did you let it run in choke mode for 10 sec or so, then slowly lean the fuel?

Teryl Would say the brand (MTD), stands for " Made To Die". Briggs is no longer a American company either. I forget who bought MTD ( Briggs and Scrapthem, Crapsman, tron built, Scrub cdfette ect..) are now chinal companies.. Your not getting a knock off of a Stihl either. What I am trying to say, I would bett anything, this is a couple houndred hour tool at tops.. I lost all faith in MTD years ago.. Plastic cam gears? really?

I bought this deal a few days ago. Went to use the saw and put bar oil, and oil and gas mix. Ran good for about 10 mins and the chain kinked while running, but not actively sawing. Figured it was a cheap chain. I got another chain and the same thing happened. The chain has oil on it. I had to sharpen my old heavy stihl saw from the 1980's to finish cutting some bushes back. I am not sure what the issue is with it, but I have to return it. I don't know if I got a lemon saw or what the deal is. The bottom of the chain links on 4 consecutive ones look like they are ground down. First time I have seen this, but I am not an arborist.....

Solid chainsaw but mine leaks like a sieve.
All chainsaws weep bar oil. You just learn to take precautions.

Taking down a large maple in our backyard, been using a Bauer 16" electric from HF thus far. It's worked fine, but picked this up for a little more capacity and not having to drag a cord around. Used it tonight for the first time, worked great. Limbed and bucked a large bough I dropped the other day, it did all I asked of it. I'm not going to embark on a career as an arborist with it, for what I need it should be fine in the long run. I would suggest using pure-gas.org to find ethanol free fuel to put in it. I put Stabil in each 5 gallon can of small engine gas I get, year round, and Marvel Mystery Oil because it gives me a warm fuzzy. I would consider this a pretty slick deal

Thank you! We live on 10 acres and have been really needing one of these. The last owners sold the best trees and the big machinery that went through the forest weakened many of the young trees. Many have died or are dying and this will be a big help!

this is an excellent deal. these are high quality clones of the zenoah/redmax g3800 japanese chaninsaw. if you are into chainsaw porting these are easy to port and can make quite a bit of power for their size. they use a quad closed port cylinder. the cylinder design is essentially a non strato husky 543xp (also a zenoah/redmax design).
