I just bought one and got it yesterday. Looked decent, parts new, missing vertical window holder. Plugged it in and PC04 code right out of the box. Tried everything, it's defective. Remote is an old school remote, not the modern one in the photo. This unit is BIG and heavy. I have to borrow a larger vehicle to return it. Consider this and the other stories. Midea doesn't check anything, they didn't even plug this in. "Certified refurbished" means nothing lol. Good luck

Mine came yesterday. Was covered in dog hair and smelled like dog and smoke. Was also damaged in shipping. I'd rather have ordered somewhere that could pick it up - it's extremely heavy to have to lug to a store.

I purchased a Restored Midea 12,000 BTU Smart Inverter U-Shaped Window Air Conditioner from Walmart last week for $240 which is about half its retail price. I couldn't resist. It arrived looking brand new but unfortunately was missing a few parts. A flat sill window adapter (which I didn't need anyway), but more importantly the 2 adjustable bolts w/cotter pins on the rack legs were also missing, which are required for installation. I called the company Midea but they said they are unable to help me because I purchased a restored unit. So I called the Walmart seller, Midea America Corp and they offered to send me an entire replacement rack free because the two missing pins are not available separately. I was in the middle of installation and had no time to wait, so I just used a couple screws and bolts to secure the legs of the rack. They accomplish the same thing by going through the same holes. I plan on ordering a 2 pack of "quick release pins" from Amazon for $7 which will also work just as well but be slightly easier (and rust resistant unlike the nuts and bolts I used). I must admit that even though it was missing parts it is by far the best air conditioner I've ever used. This single air conditioner cools my entire apartment (2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. I previously needed to use two separate air conditioners, one on each side of the apartment.

Every single post or comment about these in any store or website is the same. Walmart returns can be a huge pain, I have a few items I just wasn't able to return at home. Just pulled the trigger on a Whynter system I'd rather spend the extra $ for an actual good product. If you don't have a problem with these midea products now you will 100% have one much sooner than you want. I even avoided the brand new ones Sam's club sells for this reason

Just my $.02 on this deal. I guess I lucked out on this "refurbished" lottery from last weeks Midea deal. The one I received appeared to be and functioned like new. The Remote was different than the picture, but works fine and it didn't include the slider brackets, but I only needed the Double hung accessories so that didn't bother me at all. So far I'm very happy with it. The only other thing worth mentioning is it's way bigger than expected, I mean double the size of what I expected, so if you have a tiny space you might want to look at the dimensions of this.

Seems to be luck of the draw. I purchased one of these last year (same price) and it came pretty functionally new. Came with all the panels still wrapped and none of the insulation tape was used. Never got around to installing it until this year though and happy to report that it works as intended. So I'm not really sure how they check or mark refurbished units but I was happy with the unit at the price I purchased at.

We have 2 of these refurbished although not purchased from Walmart. They are fantastic though and move a ton of air. It has really helped lower our power bill in summer and cool our large open floor plan upstairs with tall ceilings

Having bought a couple of refurb portable AC from Woot over the years, it is really hit and miss what you get. Good news is both work. One was almost new. The other one was five years old, not really refurbed, more like heavily used. The one that was almost new was an Amazon Basics. The five year old one was Hiscense.

I just brought this unit for $219.99 last week. This unit I received looks brand new with original packaging. It has been working great since I installed it yesterday. The only issue, like many other reviewers have mentioned, is that it is missing the vertical/horizontal adapter. I have brought an identical Toshiba unit 3 years ago. That unit has worked great.
