I just bought one and got it yesterday. Looked decent, parts new, missing vertical window holder. Plugged it in and PC04 code right out of the box. Tried everything, it's defective. Remote is an old school remote, not the modern one in the photo. This unit is BIG and heavy. I have to borrow a larger vehicle to return it. Consider this and the other stories. Midea doesn't check anything, they didn't even plug this in. "Certified refurbished" means nothing lol. Good luck

Mine came yesterday. Was covered in dog hair and smelled like dog and smoke. Was also damaged in shipping. I'd rather have ordered somewhere that could pick it up - it's extremely heavy to have to lug to a store.

I purchased a Restored Midea 12,000 BTU Smart Inverter U-Shaped Window Air Conditioner from Walmart last week for $240 which is about half its retail price. I couldn't resist. It arrived looking brand new but unfortunately was missing a few parts. A flat sill window adapter (which I didn't need anyway), but more importantly the 2 adjustable bolts w/cotter pins on the rack legs were also missing, which are required for installation. I called the company Midea but they said they are unable to help me because I purchased a restored unit. So I called the Walmart seller, Midea America Corp and they offered to send me an entire replacement rack free because the two missing pins are not available separately. I was in the middle of installation and had no time to wait, so I just used a couple screws and bolts to secure the legs of the rack. They accomplish the same thing by going through the same holes. I plan on ordering a 2 pack of "quick release pins" from Amazon for $7 which will also work just as well but be slightly easier (and rust resistant unlike the nuts and bolts I used). I must admit that even though it was missing parts it is by far the best air conditioner I've ever used. This single air conditioner cools my entire apartment (2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. I previously needed to use two separate air conditioners, one on each side of the apartment.
