I have these and they're pretty good at this price. Sound quality is pretty high and it's the only thing that can connect to my PS Portal. I like that they also connect to my PS5 Pro and can be connected to my phone at the same time. I don't really wear them out since the look is a bit too out there for my tastes and I have the latest Samsung buds. I only use them for my Playstation devices and for that they work well.

Is this a concensus, poorly made, I don't tend to like earbuds but I would like a better solution for playing VR and these could work or others could work would you buy these or something else, most people?

lol this should come with the Portal for free, or maybe $40 to begin with. $199 is absurd.

I bought the black pair for about $60 on ebay. Maybe used for about 5 hours and the left bud is making a weird sound. Would not recommend

Looking at specs and reviews... these aren't as compact as Apple AirPods Pro, but they have some unique advantages.Cons:•Not the best battery efficiency: 5 hours runtime with two more charges in the case (5+10 hours).•More bulky in the pocket, it fits but if you're also carrying separate wallet, phone, keys, you might want to use a vest or sling bag instead of a pants pocket.•Larger earpieces than AirPods, and they point forward rather than down.•The video review I saw mentioned that you can't use the earbud's physical volume controls with the Bluetooth connection (may just be when using both PlayStation Link and Bluetooth simultaneously?).•No ANC for listening in portable situations.Neutral:•Most seamless use is with the Playstation Portal.•PS5 design languagePros:•Can connect and listen to Playstation Link and Bluetooth sources simultaneously (can hear PS/PC game mixed with discord or music from your phone).•USB Dongle gives a high-fidelity, lossless, lag-free audio experience that won't throw off your timing in games, full CD quality for music.•Planar Magnetic drivers rumored to be from boutique audio company Audeze (pronounced like "Odyssey"), exceptionally low distortion for clean crisp tight sound. No muddy bass to mask details. No ANC to mask clarity either. My summary: Like the PS Portal, these are kind of awkward to transport due to being somewhat bulky, and they look bigger than typical TWS in-ears when worn. Some people might miss the "rumble" of bass distortion, but overall I think it has the clarity to surprise people accustomed to cheap earphones. Audio lag personally bothers me and makes me play worse than just using speakers, so I actually appreciate that the Explore here includes a high-performance dongle option similar to PC controllers with dongles, and I can see Sony's vision to tackle lag as much as possible in every way on the PS Portal. At the $199 MSRP, I wouldn't buy it because it's less than ideal for portable music listening with my phone, but for $99 it might be tempting as a second pair of headphones to dedicate to gaming.

I think these sound comfortably better than $40 TWS earphones, BUT I agree with you that they should have come with the PS Portal for free. They're really made for eachother, but neither are worth $200. Together... maybe they're worth $200 total.

To be fair, even mediocre earbuds cost near $100. At $200, they're overpriced, but at $100 they'd be very competitively priced.

Bought these for MSRP two years ago. They are still, by far, the worst purchase I've made. I used them for my PS Portal and PS5 for a few months and was underwhelmed by the sound and no ANC.

I already have a Sonos system, so once I got the Sonos Ace it solved my problem that the PULSE were supposed to do. For the portal I use some old wired headphones and they work fine.

Totally forgot I still had these. Time for them to go on a marketplace!

I have the pulse elite headset and would rate them pretty highly (very comfortable, around the audio quality you'd expect at the price point with bluetooth instead of wired, and fully integrated with the ps5 software).
I was hoping to pick these up just for when I don't feel like wearing a headset, but these other comments are making me reconsider. Are they really so bad they're not even worth it at this $100 price point?

Nice since these were sold and shipped via Walmart, I was able to price match on Dell.com and use rewards points I had wasting away.
