This iPad Air M4 deal stands out for strong performance, a familiar 11 inch form factor, and enough storage headroom to avoid constant app deletions and update hassles. The 256GB option gets the most enthusiasm, and older 5th gen cases appear to fit. Costco also looks attractive for AppleCare or tablet protection, with lower protection pricing and a 90 day return window. The main drawbacks are the extra shipping and California fee, and a competing Best Buy cellular M3 price that undercuts it. A solid pick if you want more room and smoother everyday use.
Common Questions (5)
128GB can be enough for general use, but 256GB is the safer pick if you store lots of apps, updates, or offline media. The extra storage helps avoid the uninstall/reload friction older iPads can hit during software updates and heavy app use.
Yes. Costco's AppleCare+ option comes out to $59.99 for 2 years, compared with Amazon's bundled $69.99 AppleCare+. Costco also adds a 90-day return window, which makes the overall package more attractive for buyers who want protection coverage.
Yes. The Costco/Allstate 2-year plan covers accidental damage, including cracked screens and water damage, with no deductible. It does not cover theft or loss.
Yes. The form factor is reported to be the same, and older cases from the 5th-gen iPad Air appear to fit the M4 Air. That makes upgrading easier if you already own accessories.
Yes. The cellular model is valued for the seamless experience of staying connected without relying on phone tethering. That convenience is the main reason to choose it over Wi‑Fi only.

Also re: buying "like new" for $25 cheaper... my rule is if I'm not saving at least 20% to risk a used item I'd rather just pay a little extra for something I know is brand new and won't have possible warranty issues (pending where bought from and item in question).

The Allstate 2-Year Plan (via Costco) and AppleCare+ differ fundamentally in who repairs your device and how much you pay. Allstate is an affordable third-party insurance, while AppleCare+ is the official, premium manufacturer warranty.
Deep Dive: Which Should You Choose?
Choose the Allstate plan if:
- You want upfront savings: It is significantly cheaper than AppleCare+ at the time of purchase.
- You want zero deductibles: If you crack your screen or suffer a mechanical failure, Allstate covers 100% of the cost with no out-of-pocket fees.
- You are on a budget: It's ideal for budget tablets or users who are generally careful but want a safety net against major hardware failures.
