Yep. About 3 years ago Walmart was clearancing the 512GB PNY SATA 2.5" ssd for $17. I bought a bunch of them from the Walmart stores in my area.

Yea. Wow. I didn't know even hard drive prices went up. I guess SSDs are chip based. I'm old school and still think it's those plates.
I'm not sure if I'd buy a no name brand SSD. Too much risk to save a buck

If you're using them to run games off of who cares? Save files backed up to steam anyway. For important family photos, yeah of course not.
