Couldn't agree more. I don't know when AA became the new Spirit, but their customer service is several notches below United and Delta. I have had status with all three at different points over the last three years, and fly all three fairly often. It's a shame because their routes line up better for me than others, but I won't fly AA anymore unless I am in a real bind or need to blow what's left in my points bank. Speaking of which, they're the only airline that still has a 2-year expiration date on miles. Again, doesn't impact me because I fly often, but for others it's something to consider.

The last two years American ran a similar million tickets promotion in mid-May where most domestic routes had ample 5k one way tickets for Sep/Oct travel. I had it on my calendar ready to book this year…..until the war ruined everything. This 'deal' is lame in comparison.

Couldn't agree more. I don't know when AA became the new Spirit, but their customer service is several notches below United and Delta. The expiration is only if you don't get any miles for 2 years though, while thats annoying, its pretty easy to get miles doing something these days like making a purchase through their AA Shopping system.
