Thanks for posting this OP ! Not 100 percent sure about this but the best buy description says "Maxium Resolution 2560 x 1440"... so I'm guessing this is best used at that resolution? No idea what happens if you "downgrade" to a smaller resolution on it, I'm still rocking my over a decade old (and still chugging along faithfully ) Stick Out Tongue 1080 resolution monitor so I don't know much about the newer monitors .. someone who knows more will hopefully step in and comment on this Smilie

I'm still buying 1080p. If 4k gets cheap enough, I may start buying those. 1440p is a bastard resolution to me. Although, I often use monitor for TVs.

Great price for the specs! The only knock on this is the brightness is a little dim at 250 nits.

1440p is a good "intermediate resolution" - largely aimed at gamers; it's a bit more crisp than 1080p, but doesn't require as monster of a video card (etc) as a 4k display.
However, I'd suggest 4k (or even 1080p) if your main use case is watching media. For desktop applications and gaming, though, 1440p is a nice choice.
(I can't speak to this specific monitor, though - the 250 nuts is pretty dim seeming, especially for an "HDR" monitor)

1440p is still a good, sharp resolution, at a 27 inch monitor I think this is the best balance of sharpness, price, and GPU power if you play video games. 1080 it not as crisp/sharp, and you won't notice the diff between a 1440p and a 4k monitor at this size and standing in front of it.

What are you guys using the monitor for that you need it so bright? I visited my son and he has 2 of these monitors in his configuration and his brightness was set at 60. Granted he doesn't have direct sunlight on it but it looked plenty bright to me.

Anyone know if a 4060 gpu would run modern games well enough on a 1440 monitor? I'm still using some crappy 60 hz 27" 1080 monitors and I'd love to upgrade but not if I have to sacrifice too much on the game settings, so far the 4060 I can run most stuff on high/ultra without much issue at 1080.
