I've used it for years and have always had a good experience with it. Some claim Proton is better - and that might make a better option if you already use proton mail, the premium subscriptions come with proton vpn, their password manager, proton drive which is like Dropbox or OneDrive.. and several other things I don't use. But I have the full package- so I've used proton vpn as well. It's about the same as Nord, though seems a tiny bit less reliable connectivity wise. Not sure about speeds. So I guess it would depend on what's the best value for you. Especially if you use proton mail, it might be cheaper to just get their all-in package and get a product that's largely comparable and on par with Nord.

But Nord has pretty much been the standard for most people; they've been around a long time, have a well developed infrastructure and a good base set of features like split tunneling, kill switch (app based or "no internet if vpn isn't on"... they have post quantum encryption if that's even an effective thing.. standard protocols and wire... etc. if that's what you're asking. They have tor based connections, static ip option and I think even double tunneling.

NordVPN Basic is being used as a low-cost year of VPN coverage, with the code redeeming on Nord's website and then adding time to an existing subscription. It is valued for streaming geo-unlocking on Google TV, broad device support, and familiar features like split tunneling, a kill switch, Tor-based connections, static IP, and double tunneling. The main cautions are occasional slowdowns or reconnect loops on phones, no port forwarding, and the need to disable auto-renewal to avoid surprise charges. A practical pick if the feature set and price fit your setup.

If I purchase this does the subscription activate right away or can I activate months down the road? I ask because I would like to get it, but I don't need to use it right away.

Question 1st Time Nord User: I bought sub from Newegg. Got Activation Code from Newegg. Went to TV & downloaded Nord Basic App from Google Play Store got to the screen hoping to input my Newegg Activation code and the app tried to sell me a Higher Priced Nord plan from the App. What is the app I want to request to activate the Newegg nord activation key on my TV?
Did you get this figured out? I was able to get the Nord account signed in on my Google TV only after redeeming the code on their website.
