Yes, both can play Minecraft perfectly fine. While the ACEMAGIC M5 Mini PC struggles with heavy 3D modern games due to lacking a dedicated graphics card, Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions are highly CPU-dependent. The massive processing speed of the Core i9-14900HX easily compensates for the integrated graphics.
What to Expect in Minecraft
- Vanilla (Unmodded) Gameplay: You can expect smooth performance right out of the box. At standard 1080p resolution with a modest render distance (around 10–12 chunks), vanilla Minecraft will easily run at 60 to 100+ FPS.
- With Optimization Mods (Highly Recommended): If you install performance-boosting mods like Sodium and Lithium (on the Fabric loader), performance will skyrocket. The insane processing power of the i9 will push the game to 200–400+ FPS even on integrated graphics, making it incredibly smooth.
- Heavy Modpacks: The M5 Mini PC will handle large, CPU-heavy modpacks (like ATM9 or RL Craft) surprisingly well because it features 32GB of RAM and massive single-core speed. You just need to ensure you allocate 6–8GB of RAM to Minecraft in your launcher settings.
- Shaders: This is the main limit. Because shaders rely heavily on actual graphics card rendering pipelines, running complex shader packs (like BSL or SEUS) will tank the frame rate down to an unplayable 15–20 FPS on this integrated Intel chip. If you want beautiful lighting and water reflections, you will have to pass on them here.
Summary VerdictIf you or someone else wants this mini PC primarily for office work, coding, or emulation, but wants to hop onto a Minecraft server or play a modded world on the side, it will handle it beautifully. Just don't buy it expecting to run realistic graphics shaders.
