GPU will last the life of this rig, just run lower settings if you are playing more demanding games. And 16gb is fine if you are just gaming/light tasking. Chrome will adjust to whatever ram you have, it's not going to crash your PC. You are trying to get him to put $1000 (~$600 for 5070 ~$400 for 32gb ram) into upgrading a $900 PC 😂 Game companies are going to keep making games that will work on the handheld PCs as that's a big market right now, this PC would crush any handhelds (any I know of?).

Would also crush the steam machine, that has like a 3060 equivalent GPU. I know the market is screwing them, but I also feel they are $300 off of a fair price in todays market for what it is. Pre-AI boom I feel it's a solid 5-600 rig.

Who said anything about replacing the GPU? The 5060 will be perfectly fine for gamers who are playing on a budget, so long as they turn down some graphics settings.

As far as the memory is concerned, I don't know what form factor the motherboard is, but if it's ATX or mATX, then there are four DIMM slots, which means you can just add two sticks (and again, it's optional; 16GB should work fine for most people).

This is a good deal for someone like my friend, who doesn't do much gaming outside of older stuff and indie titles (think BroForce, Fire ProWrestling, etc)... all of which can easily be handled by even a lesser GPU than the 5060 8GB. Other than that he's looking for something that can do the usual internet browsing and "regular" computer stuff, and something that won't be intolerably slow after a couple of years. For reference, right now he's on an old HP Pavilion with an AMD Athlon II x4 860k and he's just thinking about upgrading.

Man i guess i luck out before all the big price increases. Bought my kid this same Nitro 60 with i7 with 5060/16vram and 32GB MB, 2TB SSD for 999 here when it went on sale.

This is a solid deal. Personally, would wait a deal on a tower with a 16 GB GPU. All preference though. You can do a lot with 8 GB, especially for those who haven't had a gaming PC in a number of years. At this price, you could even try to sell the GPU for $200-250 and use it towards an upgrade right away if the new card will fit

Yeah I really wish I had got to buying a pc last year I just unfortunately did not have the time or the money to do so. Oh well.
