This open box 1TB Sony PS5 with disc drive can land as a solid way to get the slim model for far less than new, especially when an Excellent unit is available for shipping or pickup. The console has arrived working fine for some orders, and the disc, 1TB version is a useful upgrade path for existing PS5 owners who want more storage or a second system. Condition is the main risk, though, with reports of missing stands, damaged shells, broken clips, failed power, crashes, and units that turn off after a short time. It is a deal that rewards close inspection and patience.
Common Questions (3)
Condition is highly variable: some open-box PS5s arrive looking and working fine, while others show heavy dents, missing clips, broken cover mounts, or fail to boot. Open-box Excellent can still be missing the stand or accessories, so in-person inspection or an easy return matters.
Shipping depends on local stock and the store handling the order, so availability can change by area and some units may ship from farther away. Checking repeatedly can pay off because an item that shows unavailable can later appear as shippable.
Reported out-the-door prices ranged from about $405 for an Open-Box Excellent unit with free shipping to $443 after tax and e-waste fees. The console is the slim 1TB disc version, which was noted as a strong value versus a $650 new price.

Thank you for posting this deal. I have been getting GTAVI FOMO and regretted missing out on the deals in late 2025.
Its nice that its the slim, disk, 1tb version as well. It is going for 650 new, if you can believe it.

This morning an Excellent quality was available for shipping! Huzzah! I'm still remaining calm until it actually ships and arrives looking good, but this was still a sign that there is still hope. If anyone else is like me and still checking each day, keep at it!
