For those wondering, this is an rotary buffer, not a DA buffer... I was close to pulling the trigger but using a rotary buffer tends to require more skill and experience as it's easier to cut through clear coat.

Seems like a solid deal but I decided to hold off myself.

I had no idea what a DA buffer is. To save anyone else a Google search: "Unlike rotary polishers, which spin in a single direction forced rotation, dual action orbital polishers, which oscillate or wobble while spinning, are super safe to use. There is little to no risk of burning up or swirling your paint when using a dual action orbital buffer. They also finish out really nice!" https://www.theartofcleanliness.c...polishers/

For those wondering, this is an rotary buffer, not a DA buffer... I was close to pulling the trigger but using a rotary buffer tends to require more skill and experience as it's easier to cut through clear coat.

Seems like a solid deal but I decided to hold off myself.

Rotary can also leave holograms which require following up with a DA anyway. I have a Griot's G8/G9 which are good beginner polishers.

For those looking to get rid of swirls on their own cars, its hard to beat the Bauer 1814e-b 6" Short Throw Dual Action Polisher at $65. Its cheap enough that one use will pay for itself. Its slow enough it won't burn through paint, though be careful on painted plastic but fast enough to remove even deeper swirls. Pads and polishes will cost you more than the machine.
