This 256GB Samsung microSD Express card stands out as a strong price on fast storage, especially for Switch 2 and other devices that support SD Express. It is also described as a solid fit for Nintendo Switch, with faster PC reads when paired with an Express reader and continuous writes rated at 30MB per second. The main caution is compatibility, since non Express devices fall back to UHS I speeds around 100MB per second. For dash cams and other constant recording gear, endurance cards are the safer match.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can work in devices that read microSDXC, but it is not the best choice for constant-write use like dash cams or security cameras. Endurance cards are designed for heavy overwrite cycles and may last longer; in a UHS-I device, this card also falls back to regular SDXC/UHS-I speeds.

  • Yes. The card's NVMe-based SD Express speed is a big leap over prior SD cards and is one of the few use cases that can actually use the Express standard today.

  • It can be used in UHS-I devices like DJI drones, but it will only run at UHS-I speeds rather than SD Express speeds. One user reported it working okay in an Insta360 X5, while another was considering the recommended Lexar Silver Plus instead.

  • No. Without SD Express support, it falls back to UHS-I performance, around 100MB/s, and one test in a UHS-I reader saw about 80MB/s read/write.

  • Yes, it supports 30MB/s continuous writes. That said, continuous recording still creates heavy write activity, so endurance-focused cards are generally better for long-term video use.

It is called overkill for action camera or drone. But take it when you can.

This was the update that was supposed to go into the next generation Micro-Sd used by PHONES!!! Then the industry price gouged you and took away the card slot in more than half the phones sold in the world.

So many bad reviews on this. Was going to get from Switch 2 but seemed to damage alot of people's devices. Sort reviews by 1 star.

Bought one that is delivered today. Also have one on order for slow delivery. If it works well in insta360 x5 and DJI 3S, I will keep other order as well for back up.

Got it and it seems to work okay in Insta360 X5 camera. Cheaper to buy this than other v30 cards at 256gb capacity so I am happy with it
