Does anyone prefer their Neo to their Mini? I bought both for the simplicity of the Neo but I find it disconcerting letting it wander around by itself without a remote. I mean, if it somehow follows me and floats out of reach, (beyond my phone Bluetooth) like our into the water or over a cliff, I can't retrieve it. I've barely used my Neo and rely completely on my Mini 2.

I bought mine from SmartFlyGear on Amazon. They sent brand new, authentic gear. Was unable to get DJI coverage because of what's mentioned here, DJI is not dealing with the US right now.

Based on users feedback, Neo 2 lasts around 15 minutes in air which is IMHO not useful for my use case, 30 minutes is good starting point where I can take a break for switching batteries

These are fun starter drones for people who want to tinker and not worry about an expensive crash. They're fairly resilient to crashes with the build in prop protection. They can do things like selfies and skip around inside the house easily. Wind resistance is a respectable level 4 (18mph) so as long as you know what you're buying, you'll be reasonably happy.

Range is heavily limited when using a smartphone to navigate, only 50 meters. You need a dedicated DJI controller to go out further. Realistically with the small battery onboard, you'll be limited to around 2km range before needing to return, or risk losing it.

I personally think the Potensic Atom SE deals are more attractive in this $140-$150 range however.

You need to go up to the $200-$350 range to start seeing drones with decent battery sizes that can get you higher and farther, with better cameras. I really like the Potensic Atom 2 refurb deals we've been seeing pop up lately on eBay. I picked one up a week ago and I'm having a blast with it. You can't find a more feature-packed drone with a 3-battery kit for $205 unless you're combing Facebook Marketplace. Skyrover makes some great drones too in the $300 range as well, with very nice 60fps 4k cameras that previously were only available on high-end $500+ dones.

It's really too bad the FCC isn't accepting new foreign-made drones for import, like the new Atom 3. I feel like it's going to just feed a black market because no one makes competitively-priced drones in the US.
