How do you use it if you want to make a purchase at the physical store? The balance has to be stored on your phone for you to scan it right? You can't just have your email opened while at walgreens and enter that walgreens code into the thing or scan it into the thing at walgreens?

I believe your Walgreens account online will remember the GC info if you have funds left after the first order to use on the next order(s). Otherwise I download these EGC's as a PDF (go to print, don't print it, choose PDF option and download it so it is easy to access rather than combing through 500 old emails.
As for store use, if it has a QR code you can just take a photo of the QR code and let the cashier scan that. If not, send a text to yourself with the card# and pin or send it in FB messenger to yourself rather than having to open an email from 2 months ago on your phone.
