I highly suggest a PRO Endurance SD card for constant re-writing over the Amazon Basics. The Amazon one is good for smartphones and on-off recording, like for a digital camera, not for a dash cam for constant recording. All i can say is rock the card until fails or gives you issues then look into a Pro Endurance card. I have been using Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB in my Viofo with the installation kit to continue recording when the car is shut off and I have not had to replace the card yet in 6 years. I also setup the Vifo in the settings to prompt me to reformat the card every 15 days. That keeps the card fresh from wearing out on the same spot from recording.

Been on the Internet since before eternal September and I think this is the most worthless comment I've ever seen. People in the market for a $200 dashcam are not going to instead buy a whole new car.

In 4 1. Seems like everyone raves over these.

Questions:
  1. Has anyone used any extension for the rear camera?
  2. The front unit has let me know (at least 2x now) that the drive needs to be flashed. What's everyone using for storage card?

I used the Viofo hardwire kit to hardwire the rear camera, there was at least 3 feet I think of extra length that I didn't need for my hatchback.
I used a Transcend 256gb high endurance microSD card. They got expensive though, I only paid ~$25 for mine 6 months ago or so.

I ordered the A229 Pro 2-channel variety this morning. Added the Viofo HK4 installation kit [amazon.com], and an Amazon Basics 256GB Micro SD card [amazon.com]. From the product page:
Read speed up to 200MB/s.
Write speed up to 150MB/s.
For optimal smartphone experience includes UHS-I, U3, Class 10 and A2 speed classes.

I have the mini2 Viofo and its fantastic. 2 years; so far no issues with battery or operation so my only complaint is the janky wifi connection with your cellphone but if you really need footage just pull the sd card.
I highly recommend turning off the chirping audio when it starts up

Didn't try an extension cable, but the provided rear camera cable length was enough for me to reach the back window (through the headliner) in a mid-sized SUV. I can tell you there wasn't a lot of extra slack.
I use a Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB microSDXC in my A229 Plus camera without issue so far. As someone already mentioned, the prices on these have gone way up (hence the 128GB card instead of the 256GB).

Just get a Tesla with sentry mode. These things suuck! You can't view any clips from your phone unless you download them from the app, you car has to be powered down as the viofo wifi Bluetooth interferes with the car, these are a huge hassle
